I first met Jonathan from $₮ years ago while riding my bike home from Ladera Park, my home-away-from-home courts over in unincorporated LA County just north of Inglewood. $₮ had a pop-up at the corner of Fairfax and Slauson displaying all this terrific-looking pan-African and #BLM gear. I asked Jonathan what he thought I might be able to pull off, and he suggested a blue tye-dye sweatshirt with a gold drawstring. This quickly became a wardrobe staple, so much so that when I made my big debut on local TV news there was no question what I’d be wearing.
